Thakur School of Architecture & Planning, Kandivali, Mumbai launched pioneering program of Masters in real estate development as an autonomous institution affiliated with university of mumbai. The Masters in Architecture (Real Estate Development) program is designed to address the growing demand for professionals who can navigate the complexities of real estate development, balancing economic, social, and environmental considerations. This program is particularly relevant in Mumbai, where redevelopment projects are reshaping the city’s aging housing stock and transforming it into modern, sustainable living spaces.
The program was launched by Principal Dhiraj Salhotra and the Vice principal Purvi Kakkad, by briefing on the background and the relevance to the industry. The program was supported by industry experts representing various important organizations of the real estate segment. Prof. Ar. Durgesh Shanbhag briefed the gathering about the detailed contents and the focus of the syllabus in the business acument of the real estate. Ar. Amol Shimpi with his vast experience in the real estate industry and being the force behind setting up the syllabus for the program opined that ‘The program aptly aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge to navigate these challenges and capitalize on opportunities in the real estate sector.’ Ar. Anand Karekar, Ar. Sunil Jain, Ar. Tushar Sali shared their industry experience and offered to support the program as it promised to fill the industry gap. Engineer Pragnesh Trivedi with his vast experience from the domain of real estate and masters in planning from CEPT expressed his support for the program and listed the opportunities that the students could gain from it.
