She believe in Good Design which is sustainable in Nature & Great Design which is responsible with nature. She has a keen knowledge towards Sustainability, Green buildings & Alternative construction techniques.
She has wide range of experience in working with various corporates & architecture firms to name a few HCP Design Planning and Management Pvt Ltd, Ahmedabed, Equinox Pvt Ltd, Mumbai&SEED studio Mumbai.
During her time in CEPT, she was selected as a volunteer Architect for an organization in Ladakh named SECMOL (Students Environment Cultural Movement OF Ladakh) wherein she was called upon to demonstrate vernacular architecture techniques ofLadak. Under her supervision 50 students were mentored to explore & build a prototype in the school campus. She was associated in Ladakh for a span of 3 months wherein she experience an ecologicallysustainable lifestyle with the local ladakians in growing her own food, cooking her own food with the sun above her head & living a simple lifestyle.
At an early stage she had an amazing opportunity to work on ecofriendly& Sustainable Green Building projects. She has worked on various Green building Certification Rating systems like USGBC- LEED, IGBC, GRIHA on some renowned projects developed by Raheja, Hiranandani, Ekta World, RNA Crop &Rustomjee to name some few.
She has also involved in designing of some of the nationally renowned projects like. IIT Gandhinagar& Sabarmati River front development. Recently she had been associated with PEC Greening India, a Green building & Integrated Sustainable Management organization. Where in her key role was as a Project Architect & Sustainable Design Advisory. On this role she had been involve in designing and working on various smart city development project like GIFT city, Ahmedabed, RakshShakati University,Ahmedabed (Dreamed project of Honorable Shri. Narendra Modi) and was also involved in preparing Smart city mission guidelines for 400 acres Renaissance Smart city Township project.
Mellissa has also developed skills of writing & presenting research papers at various conferences like 17th International Conference on Humane Habitat hosted by Rizvi College of Architecture @ Mumbai, with the title “Sustainable Architecture - Earth as a Building Material”. &"Women In Architecture" in the WIA conference in New Delhi, 2015 conducted by SPA, Delhi. Also she was a speaker at International Green Building Congress 2015 Organized at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat under the Launching Rating of IGBC Green Residential Society Rating System to present on the topic “Best Green Practices in Housing Societies”.
She believes in Architecture which could be taught with creativity & to any person who believes in it, hence recently she has also started training for students & local villagers under the tittle Green eye- cause for sustainability & Green Hammer welfare foundation. Wherein she conducts training programs for hands on experience in Alternative Building Materials & Technologieswith an aim to help and generate communities and people who are willing to walk the path of Green environmental revolution.
